Henry Stewart is an associate editor at Opera News, for which he writes the monthly Operapedia feature. He was previously the culture editor at The L Magazine. His writing has appeared in those publications as well as Lit Hub, Electric Literature, BKLYNR, the BAMbill, Brooklyn Magazine, the Indypendent, Reverse Shot, Slant Magazine and the House Next Door, the Brooklyn Eagle, Bushwick Daily and elsewhere.
He also hosts the monthly open-mic series The Bay Ridge Poets Society, has moderated Q&As with major actors and minor filmmakers, and has lectured at Greenlight Bookstore’s Brooklyn Voices series at St. Joseph’s College, the Brooklyn Public Library, the Bay Ridge Historical Society and the Owl’s Head wine bar’s “Drunk History” series.
He graduated from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism and lives in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn— where he grew up—with his wife, two dogs and a cat.
